SUZANNE R. CICHON, ESQ

BIO:
Suzanne Cichon is the founder and managing attorney of Athena Law PLLC. She is committed to providing quality legal services to her clients in the most cost efficient manner possible. She understands that whether it is divorce, child custody, co-parent adoption, decree modification or an enforcement issue, her clients are trusting her with all they hold most dear — their assets, their homes, and their children.
Athena Law PLLC was founded in 2020, with a goal of being a modern law firm that had a fresh approach to legal services. Ms. Cichon has previously worked in various different industries, including construction, sports, child welfare and the non-profit sector. Her experience in these different areas provide a broad foundation and interdisciplinary understanding of the many facets of family law litigation and unique insight into the complexity of family law cases.
Ms. Cichon holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University, and an MBA and Masters of Sports Business from The University of Central Florida. She graduated Cum Laude with her JD from WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School and then pursued an LLM in Homeland and National Security Law from the same law school, where she was Managing Editor of the WMU Cooley Homeland and National Security Law Review. Attorney Cichon is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.
Ms. Cichon, or Suzie Mac as she is affectionately known, is a native of Glasgow, Scotland, who naturalized as a US citizen in 2018, she is a Wife and a Step-mom, and enjoys tutoring kids in civics. In addition to practicing law, she is formerly the lead singer of a band, an avid golfer, and is highly involved in her local community.

TYLER SHORTSLEEVES, ESQ

BIO
Tyler joined Athena Law Firm as an Associate Attorney after gaining criminal law experience from the Public Defender’s Office for the 10th Circuit.
Tyler currently serves on the Legal Panel of the Tampa Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. He graduated from Keiser University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with his primary focus being Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Tyler attended and graduated from WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During law school, he took a position as a Law Clerk at the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL); where his duties included immigration work, civil rights work, and legislative lobbing. In law school, Tyler was elected President of his campus Sexuality and Gender Acceptance organization. He also won the 2017 interschool Mock Trial Competition. Tyler’s practice areas are Family, Criminal, LGBTQIA+ Rights, Civil Rights, and Dependency Law.
Tyler was born and raised in Zephyrhills, Florida, to a single mother of 3. Growing up, Tyler always fought for the underdog, and would protect anyone’s rights to do what they want. He has 2 siblings, a younger sister and an older brother. His family life has taught him a lot about compassion & acceptance, due to helping his mother provide care for his neuro diverse brother. In his free time, Tyler is either at a Theme park, binge watching a series of shows, or being a legal observer for BLM gatherings and other protests. His family is important to Tyler, and your family will become just as important to him.
